Ward 3 Deserves Action, Not Endless Grandstanding

When I decided to run for Ward 3 Council, I promised to be bold. We have spent the last four years missing a leader who listens to input and then actually fights for what is right.
Councilmember Frumin’s recent letter to the Zoning Commission is more of the same: re-open the record for more "process" while our commercial corridors sit stagnant.
The Record is Clear:
Unending Process: This debate has lasted eight years. This specific case has been open since last June with 249 exhibits of testimony - none from Coucilmember Frumin supporting the plan.
Housing Near Transit: We need housing in DC, and there is no better place for it than steps from shops and transit.
Affordability vs. Inaction: While we must balance the Inclusionary Zoning Plus (IZ+) program to ensure deep affordability, we cannot let analysis shut down the building of new homes altogether.
As Vice-Chair of ANC 3C, we have been on the front lines of this debate. Since last June alone, our ANC held six public meetings on these zoning cases. We engaged in deep, exhaustive outreach to ensure every voice was heard. The ANC's submission, which I help write and for which I voted, is here.
It’s time for the process to be over. It’s time to act. I am not going to hide from the tough questions or use "process" as a shield for indecision. I owe it to you to tell you where I stand. On March 12th, the Zoning Commission should green-light this long-overdue rezoning and let Ward 3 move forward.
I hope to earn your vote in the Democratic primary. Learn more about our vision for a bolder Ward 3 at adamforward3.com.

When you were elected as ANC, you participated in a photo op with several other Commissioners that involved flipping off a small business owner. Will you commit to civility and hearing all sides of a policy issue as Councilmmeber?
